Breakfast In Vang Vieng
Luang Prabang Bakery
Contrary to the name Laung Prabang Bakery is not in Luang Prabang, it is in Vang Vieng and definitely belongs on this list. It is located in a rather large building and has cabinets full of delicious goodies. Though, if you are feeling like something sweet out of the display cabinet there is also a menu that has Western and Asian favorites.
Seriously the prices here are pretty affordable. You can get an excellent morning coffee for your caffeine fix before you hit the blue lagoons Vang Vieng is famous for. From cheesecakes, cakes, pastries, sandwiches, and more! Of course, it is not going to be good as a French bakery in France. Though thanks to the high French influence in Laos cooking it is pretty damn close. It is definitely worth giving Luang Prabang bakery a try, whether that’s for breakfast in Vang Vieng or a quick bite for afternoon tea.

One Of The Local Restaurants
There are some excellent local restaurants in Vang Vieng that aren’t listed online. If you are like me and just enjoy well eggs cooked with love for breakfast and don’t need anything too fancy then these restaurants are a great option. They are cheap, cheerful and the majority of times playing friends on the televisions around the restaurant, what more could you want!
Oftentimes these locally-owned restaurants can be some of the best of the bunch. They have been around for a long time catering for us travelers and they know what we like. If you are backpacking Laos on a budget these locally run eateries will be a great option throughout your travels.

Lunch In Vang Vieng
Restaurant Du Carbe D’Or
One of the more pricier options on this where to eat in Vang Vieng list, Restaurant Du Carbe D’Or is certainly worth a visit if you are looking for a dining experience. For the ultimate time be sure to order the degustation menu. It is known as one of the best restaurants in Vang Vieng and it’s easy to see why when you visit.
They fuse the French cooking techniques with local favorites to make some of the best food you will have throughout your travels here. Though, if you like spicy food let your wonderful waiter or waitress know as the chefs cater for a western palate and usually tone down on the spice here.
Side note, if you are wanting to book a table with an amazing view be sure to contact the restaurant in advance to organize this. They can often be reserved for their hotel guests so don’t turn up expecting to get one. It’ll be worth it as the views here are absolutely incredible!

The Corner Hanoi Cafe & Restaurant
Feeling like a taste of Vietnam while spending your days relaxing in Vang Vieng? Well, the Corner Hanoi Cafe & Restaurant is the ideal choice for you. Specializing in Vietnamese cuisine some of the most popular choices on the menu include pho, spring rolls, and Vietnamese coffee.
Affordable, delicious food in a relaxed setting. The Corner Hanoi Cafe & Restaurant can get super busy at night which is why I have listed it as one of the places for lunch in Vang Vieng. This is also a great spot for vegetarians with plenty of vege friendly options. This is a true Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Laos and a must-try when you are in Vang Vieng.

Dinner In Vang Vieng
Happy Mango Thai Restaurant
Happy Mango Thai Restaurant has been a favorite of travelers visiting Vang Vieng. This place seems to always be busy. Offering affordable, flavorful meals keeps the customers constantly coming back for more. Also, who can say no to Thai food!
Popular dishes include pad thai, pineapple fried rice, and mango sticky rice. If you are craving Thai food this is your best bet and is said to be one of the best Thai restaurants in Laos. Just prepare for an extremely busy restaurant, if you are wanting a quiet and romantic evening away with your other half, this is not the place to be.
Opening Hours: 12.30pm until 10.30pm, 7 days a week
Location: Middle Street, Vang Vieng
I found Bamboo Tree on my most recent trip to Vang Vieng and visited on a few different occasions during my stay. Located on the main street it was really easy to find. I was actually surprised to see how underrated it was on TripAdvisor because at night this place gets PACKED.
They do a lot of Laos eats as well as Western favorites. My partner fell in love with the satay tofu burger here and he is usually a full-on meat-eater. They have choices for vegans as well, something which can be rather difficult to find in Asia due to fish sauce and oyster sauce commonly being used. If you really want to go all out they also offer hearty steaks here as well.
Opening Hours: 8.00am until 11.00pm, 7 days a week
Location: Main street, Vang Vieng
Garys Irish Bar
If you are missing a taste of home then I have saved the best for last. Garys Irish Bar seems to always be my first stop when visiting Vang Vieng. Seriously there’s nothing like a good roast and a chip buttie to cure that homesickness. This is a popular spot for young Western travelers and they are constantly playing decent music.
The food may be basic but it is so damn good. The guys working here are always up for a laugh and if you stay long even you’ll see this place turn from a day time restaurant to a full-on bar vibe. How could you say no to an Irish Pub in the middle of Laos? The answer is you cannot so get yourself here as well as the other spots on this where to eat in Vang Vieng list.

There are plenty of awesome things to do in Vang Vieng. If you can I recommend you hire a bicycle or motorbike to explore some of the beautiful landscapes of the region.
