What Is The Cinta Costero

The Cinta Costero is the perfect place to take a walk while exploring Panama City in Panama. Located alongside The Bay of Panama it will take you from Punta Paitilla to Panama Viejo over a 32 hectare stretch. Throughout this time, you will be walking alongside grass areas, palm trees and a skate park. All the way from the skyscrapers of the city to the colonial area buildings which are being restored.

Staying at the Hard Rock Hotel in Panama City we were just a short walk away from the Cinta Costero. Walking it was the first thing I did when I arrived in Panama. It was a great way to get my bearings in an unfamiliar country.

What To Expect On The Cinta Costero

The perfectly manicured lawns, palm trees blowing in the breeze and the beautifully blue Pacific Ocean off to one side gives the perfect view. The skyscrapers which line Panama City stand high above you while the traffic rushes past.

As you walk around you will be joined by many Panamanians, giving you the perfect opportunity to people watch. Cinta Costero is used by so many locals. It allows them to exercise surrounded by greenery, which is awesome in such a concrete jungle city.

Once night falls the Cinta Costero is beautifully lit up. If you are visiting during the dry season this is the perfect time to venture out to experience it as the temperatures would have dropped. Enjoy the views of the massive skyscrapers shinning down from above you.

So, if you are in Panama City having a stroll along Cinta Costero is a must. It is an excellent way to see the area and mix with the locals. You can walk as long or short as you like. Just remember to bring a drink bottle and hat if it’s a hot day!
