A Pre Opening Tour Of The Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty
Looking out towards Vembenad Lake and Fort Kochi, The Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty stands elegantly on the skyline. This 5 star hotel boasts one of South India’s largest convention centers and 5 restaurants.
I was lucky enough to be invited for a sneak preview of the gorgeous Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty. The official opening of the hotel is the 29th April 2018. Though, having visited I now know the true meaning of living grand and I am excited to share that experience with you!
Checking In To The Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty
Location & Accessibility
A quick 45 minute drive from Cochin International Airport you will soon be in your room or relaxing at the pool. What more could you want after a long flight.
You are also only a half hour drive away from the popular Fort Kochi. It is the perfect place to soak up some history and get some good shopping done. There are so many awesome things to do in Fort Kochi. Though, that’s if you can actually pull yourself away from the gorgeous hotel.
Lastly, the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty has its own private jetty making getting around the area a seamless experience.
A Grand Entrance
Stepping into the lobby of the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty luxury oozes from each wall. From the high pitched ceilings and the sparkling chandeliers it is impossible to not stop and take a moment to appreciate the grandeur. Golden accents will meet you in each direction and this theme will follow you throughout the rest of the property.
The friendly team members will welcome you to your temporary home with a smile. Ultimately, the tone for the rest of your stay will be set as soon as you set foot through the door, and you will not be disappointed.
Sophisticated Sleeping
The Presidential Suite
Lets start with the Presidential Suite because why wouldn’t you! The grandeur exudes from each inch of the suite with perfection in the finest details. Golden accents reflect the light coming through the floor to ceiling windows and the dark marble bench top contrasts the white marble floor flawlessly.
A large dining table and comfortable couches placed in the center provides the perfect living area for entertaining. With a striking office space at one end the presidential suite is great for a variety of travelers.
A large balcony area provides views out to the magnificent lake which the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty calls its neighbor.
The adjoining twin room in the presidential suite provides the perfect stay for those extra visitors. Though, they wont be disappointed. With equally as amazing views as the grand king room and plenty of space it is the perfect place to rest your head after exploring this beautiful property.
The grand king room in the presidential suite is where the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty’s hashtag can be truly embraced. Living grand is what you will be doing here and there is no doubt about it when you wake up to beautiful lake views from the comfort of your king size bed.
With dark wooden accents mixed with a warm gold, the chestnut color scheme provides a peaceful atmosphere.
The bathroom in the presidential suite is just the cherry on top of this grand cake. The beautiful circular bath set in the middle of the room provides perfect water views through the floor to ceiling windows ahead.
The shower has two shower sliders as well as seating, allowing for a perfect hideaway at the end of the night.
Grand King Room
The grand king room is the ultimate luxury space for a small group of travelers. With the bed looking out towards the beautiful lake and floor to ceiling views, sunrise is no doubt one to remember.
The spacious area is provides enough room for a full length desk. This is perfect for the business traveler allowing room to spread out with paperwork and electronics. As well for the general traveler staying in at night to order room service.
Having a large flat surface can truly make a space comfortable, bringing the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty a step above the rest.
The bathroom is another standout feature of the grand king room. The black tiles really give an elegance to the space and the gold features just contribute to this feeling.
It is not common that a hotel room will have both a shower and a bathtub, and this is something which the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolygatty has striven to do.
Twin Room
The standard twin room still contains a lot of the highlights of the grand king room, though just with a city view instead of one overlooking the lake and backwaters. The bathroom still features the striking walk in shower and bathtub and well as the luxurious atmosphere of the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolygatty.
The rooms are extremely spacious and even feature the full size desk and a 49 inch television. This makes the standard twin room perfect for a range of travelers.
Memorable Dining Experiences
With 5 individual dining opportunities catering for a range of cuisines and dietary requirements, the options while staying at the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty are endless.
Keep an eye out for the Colony Clubhouse & Grill, The Malabar Cafe, Grand Lounge, Pool Bar and Thai Soul during your stay and test out some of their amazing foodie delights.
From sipping cocktails next to the pool to sampling whiskey out of your dedicated cabinet, the living grand theme is not just in regards to the property and its room, but for everything down to the small details in the menus.
Colony Clubhouse & Grill
With beautiful backwater and city views the Colony Clubhouse & Grill is a gastronomical aficionado’s dream. The culinary philosophy behind the many delights is based on using one of the world’s oldest cooking methods. Using open fires, smoking grills and burning embers gives the food another depth, taking the dining experience at Colony Clubhouse & Grill to a whole new level.
With clean lines and perfect symmetry, the decor of the restaurant resonates perfectly with the sophisticated menu. Dark wood mixed with golden accents brings in the theme commonly seen throughout the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty. Oozing a timeless elegance it is no doubt this is the place to be with the city skyline lights sparkling a head.
Malabar Café
All day casual dining mixed with perfect views, you know where to find me at the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty. Featuring the fiery authentic flavors of the gorgeous Malabari cuisine mixed with the relaxed Malabar Cafe environment provides the perfect sophisticated, but relaxed atmosphere.
Trust me there is no way you can leave Kerala without trying the intricate and aromatic flavors used in Malabari dishes.
Thai Soul
Located on the ground floor looking out to the pool the Thai Soul restaurant brings the best of street Thai food right to your table. The complex flavors of sweet, sour, spicy and salty are in perfect balance with a upscale twist.
You can find more about my experience dining at Thai Soul ‘coming soon’ where I discovered perfect Thai street food delights in Southern India.
Grand Lounge
When you first walk into the lobby of the Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty the Grand Lounge will be calling your name from the other side of the room. Enjoy the Arabic influences of striking decor and dining with a beautiful over water view.
It is the perfect place for mixing and mingling with a buzzing atmosphere.
Pool Bar
Enjoy a relaxed pace sitting poolside with the beautiful lake in the background. The pool bar offers delightful drinks and light bites. Enjoy your number one cocktail under the sun while listening to the lapping waves.

The title is sumptuous but the resort is so dated… The GRAND HYATT looks amazing, like new and fresh and fabulous, sorry it was not open or there the time of my last visit :) Yet, Bolgaty island is awesome and Kochin and a gate for Kerala so believe it or not I want to come back here and this resort looks so amazing!
